Brisbane Catholic Education System initiatives
Christ the King has been engaged in key learning initiatives supported by the Brisbane Catholic Education Office . As such our focus has been on establishing visible evidence of progress in Literacy for each student by the use of effective and expected practices for teaching Literacy and establishing processes and tools for the effective monitoring of each student's progress.
One of the key elements of this initiative was the applications to Religion and literacy in Religion. In 2016, we will be consolidating how we use the expected and effective practises to improve the literacy skills of our students.
Learning more about strategies such as Reading2Learn, Guided Reading and using resources such as First Steps will give us the tools to do this. We will be further implementing the 3 high yield strategies; Data Walls, Review and Response Meetings and walks and talks to provide us with feedback on our progression.
Our focus on the high yield strategies will ensure they become embedded as part of the school culture of learning and high expectations for all, looking to build the sustainability of good first teaching practises in the
application of the DELT Initiative;
